At the Flemington Vet Hospital, we offer in-house diagnostic imaging services.

Diagnostic imaging is sometimes required to investigate medical problems. There are various imaging modalities available to pets to help us discover problems hidden from the visible eye.

We have a digital radiography system that uses x-rays to diagnose problems such as bone fractures, arthritis and even heart problems. We are also able to use more advanced techniques such as contras radiography to diagnose more complex problems such as bowel obstructions.

We can also use ultrasonography to help us uncover the mysteries that might be ailing your pet. Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging method that uses soundwaves to produce an imaging through soft tissues. We have consultants available to perform abdominal and thoracic (chest and heart) ultrasounds.
For even more complex cases, sometimes advanced imaging is required to achieve the best outcome for your pet. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT) is available for your pet through a specialist vet. In these situations, we can arrange referral to a specialist for an MRI or CT scan.
