On occasions we need to investigate problems in a patient further by viewing what is going on inside the body. Radiography (Xrays) and Ultrasonography (sound waves) allow us to view inside the body without surgery.
We can perform simple radiographs to confirm such problems as checking for arthritis, fractured limbs, cancers or heart problems. Advanced diagnostics such as contrast radiography can also be used to detect intestinal obstructions or spinal injury.
We have recently invested in a new digital xray system which makes taking high-quality radiographs of your pet now even easier! It uses the most up-to-date technology to make taking diagnostic radiographs a faster procedure with even more reliable results. Furthermore, the digital technology allows us to send radiographs to have them reviewed by specialists who can offer a second opinion within an hour!
Ultrasound examination can quite often be performed consciously. It is particularly useful looking at such organs as the heart, kidneys, liver and bladder. We have veterinarians able to perform ultrasound examinations at the clinic.
